capabilities

  • Color: In the RIM process, RimStar is able to add color at the mixer head. This allows for quick & easy color changes. Depending on requirements, we can match an existing color, or use one of our standard production colors (black, blue, orange, or yellow).
Our casting department can change colors with each pour.

  • Hardness: RimStar can produce products with a urethane hardness ranging from a 20A to a 75D durometer. This allows us to formulate for your specific requirements - such as low or high rebound, tear strength, or low compression set properties. We can also manufacture dual durometer products such as rollers with a very hard core and a softer outer surface.

  • Assembly: Our assembly department can perform any secondary finishing operations and final assembly for your products. This includes adding other components, assemblies or parts to provide a finished product.

  • Inserts and Encapsulation: RimStar can encapsulate a variety of inserts or shapes into molded parts for mechanical functionality. Metal inserts, bushings or steel, aluminum, or glassform shapes are examples of materials that can be encapsulated using the RIM process.

  • Part thickness: RimStar can mold complex parts with thin and thick walls in the same part without sink or distortion. Wall thicknesses as thin as 1/8 inch and as thick as 2 inches are possible.
Our casting department can produce parts with a much greater thickness than is possible using the RIM process. For example, we can create a product with a thickness of 6 inches or greater.

  • Prototype to production: RimStar's RIM and cast departments allow us to cast prototype parts for product development and testing. These easily convert to the high production RIM process when necessary.
